The Content of the Business Studies Products.
Each presentation is broken into lesson size units. When you click on the button on the opening page you go directly to your chosen unit. The units and specific content for each presentation are:

1. The Basis of Business
The units are: Wants and Needs, The Market, Production. These units cover Wants and needs as the basis of industry. The differences between rich and poor. Supplying our wants and needs. Business and its market. Market Types. Market forces. Factors of production. Scarcity. Types of production. Chains of production.

2. Types of Companies
The units are: In Business, Sole Trader, Joint Venture and Incorporation.
These units cover explanations of sole trade, partnerships, cooperatives, franchises, Limited companies, plc's and the public sector.
3. Business Objectives and Growth
The units are: Business Objectives, Scale, Growth of a Business, and Margins. These units include; profit, growth, economies of scale, diseconomies of scale, external economies of scale, growth and different types of mergers.
4. Production
The units are: Products, Methods, Technologies and Improvement. These units include; the Boston matrix, methods of production e.g. job, batch flow and mass production, new methods including robots, just in time, total quality management and the value of research and development.
5. Developing a product for the market
The units are: The Market, Segmentation and Surveys. These include different kinds of market, targeting different groups by segmentation, market research, primary and secondary data and choosing survey methods.
6. The Marketing Mix
The units are: Product, Price, Promotion and Place. The 4 P's are explained in these units including: branding, packaging and product life cycle, methods of pricing, how companies promote their product and distribution from producer to consumer.
7. The Business Location
The units are: Location Factors, Industry Specific Factors and The Decision. These units include the factors influencing business location, market, availability of resources and labour, external economies of scale, transport and government help.
8.External controls on Business
The units are: An Introduction, Society and New Attitudes. The units cover the influences on business from the outside world including social responsibility, environment and ethical issues.
9.The Role of Government
The units are: Policy, The Economy, The EU and The Law. These units include How the government influences business through monetary policy, public spending, tax and exchange rates, the influences of the EU and the law including monopolies and consumer rights.
10. The Type of Economy
The units are: Economy Types, An example applied to transport, and Government. The units include explanations of the planned, market and mixed economies with transport examples of each type e.g. The Channel Tunnel, The Union Pacific and Amtrak and transport in China, all with relation to nationalisation, privatisation and government spending.
11. Sources of Finance
The units are Principle sources of Finance and Alternative Options. This includes Internal and external sources of finance for limited companies and plc's including interest payments, shares medium and long term finance.
12.Financial Planning
The units are: Costs and Break Even. Included in these units are revenue expenditure, break even point, plotting and calculating breakeven.
13. Accounts and Records
The units are: Accounts and Performance Checks. This includes the need to keep records, the trading account, gross profit, the profit and loss account, net profit, the balance sheet, cash flow ratios, the business plan all with examples to help understanding.
14. Internal Organisation
The units are Functions, Departments, Hierarchy and Other Options. These units cover organisation of the workforce, types and functions of departments, advantages and disadvantages of hierarchical structures and alternative forms of organisation.
15. Recruiting and Training
The units are: Recruitment, Selection, Training, and Unions. These units include ways and methods to recruit staff, the value of training and the role of trade unions.
16.The Motivation of Work
The units are: Remuneration,  and An Effective Staff. These cover how people are motivated to work including wages and salaries, the wage slip, perks of the job, strategies to motivate staff and changes in employment e.g. flexible working.
17. The Art of Communication in Business
The units are: Types of Communication, Good and Bad Communication and Methods of Communication. These units cover the advantages and disadvantages of verbal, written and electronic communication analysing the different methods appropriate to the type of message, sender and receiver.
